People may misunderstand you. When practicing new behaviors there are going to be some reactions from your closest friends and family members. They will notice, and may jump to the conclusion you're being self-centered or egotistical. Let them. Keep the focus on your goal, take note of the actions towards your goal, and track the progress. Yes, you can balance goals and relationships it takes time to get used to the adjustments. Making decisions that are best for yourself is healthy for everyone involved even if temporarily uncomfortable.
